I’ve been working in Makati for more than two years, but I have to admit that I’ve been unadventurous when it comes to food choices. Though I eat out a lot since I can’t cook at my dorm, I tend to go to the same places everytime. Namely, Jollibee, Chicboy, and World Chicken. This year, I planned to try as many restaurants and fast food joints as possible. I even had a list! Mostly, it’s restaurants that’s quite popular and relatively affordable, but frugal me still deems them quite pricey!
When my officemates learned that I hadn’t eaten at Banapple yet, they promised that we’d go there the next payday. They feel it’s such a loss that I haven’t even tried Banapple yet, Ate Joycy even felt sorry for me. Heh. So last payday, I finally got to eat at Banapple, Ayala Triangle branch.
Steve, Ate Karen, Ayessa, and Ate Marco, my lovely officemates. Yes, Steve, lovely ka. 😀
We arrived at around 11AM and there was already a queue outside! It’s quite surprising since we thought we were early. I guess if you want to be seated immediately, you have to be there before 11. While waiting, we spent some time taking photos and trying to be cute. One thing I should have realized a long time ago is that I probably should not stand next to Ate Karen when taking photos. She’s too tall for me.

When we’re finally seated, we had to wait a little more for our food. We should have ordered already when we were still in line! So we just took some more photos! They have some problems with my expressions. I have a wide array of facial expressions, and I believe it’s a talent. But they say that I can longer take a proper picture. They even doubt that I can pull on a poker face. But I just really can’t help but look silly in front of the cam. I’m not sorry.
I love the interior of the place since it’s really homey. But it’s quite small for a place that so jam-packed around the clock. Though there are still seats outside, they couldn’t fully entertain everyone coming. I wish the place is a bit bigger since it’s really too cramped. But I love it anyway.
I ordered Garlic Tapa with rice and creamy scrambled egg. Or something. I cannot fully remember the full name. My friends asked me why I’m ordering a rice meal for my first Banapple visit. But I see nothing wrong with ordering rice! I’m a rice person and if you must know, I’m a tapsilog addict. It’s on my top five favorite Filipino meals, so when I see tapsilog on the menu, I’m inclined to order it.
They think the tapa’s too sweet but I really, really like it. They say the serving’s good for two persons, but I finished it on my own. I told you, I’m a tapsilog addict.
P.S. I finally got a smart phone so I can now take photos anytime, anywhere! And yes, you can follow me on Instagram. (I’ve been dying to say that for years!) My father also got my camera fixed so I can’t wait to take more photos and to blog more before the year ends! I have tons of backlog, my head hurts just by thinking about it.
